Denomination of Origin: Ribera Del Duero
Vineyard: Bodegas de los Ríos Prieto
Grape Varieties: 100% Tempranillo
Ageing: 24 months in French oak barrel
Tasting Notes: Brilliant and lively colour of medium-high intensity. An elegant ruby-red colour with mauve undertones. On the nose this wine has light balsamic and mineral notes intermingled with nuances of jammy red fruits (strawberry, red plum). After some decanting, the wine exhibits powerful notes of wild fruits (raspberries, cassis) along with pleasant perfumes of butterscotch and spicy notes of cayenne pepper, cinnamon and clove all beautifully merged. A well-structured palate with highlighted but silky tannins delivering a soft and unctuous mouth-feel. A good balance between the alcohol and the acidity. Notes of wild, red fruits, the buttery hints of cocoa and vanilla and the spicy notes from the oak blend harmoniously and lead into a lingering and perfumed after-taste.
Food Match: Ideal accompaniment to red meats and game,
Jamon Iberico, mature cheeses and pates.
