In 2006 the Hacienda del Carche winery was set up by a family with a long tradition in winemaking. The winery aims to satisfy the palates of consumers of the D.O. Jumilla wine. It has been built along modern lines and with noble materials.
The winery is located in a Nature Park at 750 meters above the sea level, with scarce rain and almost 3.000 hours of sunshine per year, thus being one of the oldest ideal sites in Spain for growing grapes.
Extreme climate with hot summers and very cold even snowy winters, makes them the perfect spot in the world to grow Monastrell, the grape variety of the region which along with Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Garchacha, Petit Verdot and the white varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Airen and Macabeo allow them to create extraordinary wines with the special Mediterranean character of the area.
Their barrel warehouses, air-conditioned and humidity-controlled, hold more than 1.500 barrels of French and American oak with 225 litres each. They have wines ranging from 3 to 24 months in barrel. Once the wine is bottled, it rest on the rack until it meets the perfect standard for market.
